SEMI-MONTHLY REPORT of Outrages by Whites against Blacks in the State of North Carolina, for the fifteen days ending June 30, 1866.

Date: June 26, 1866. Place: Bladen County. By whom: (blank). Against whom: (blank). Nature of outrage: Case rape. Action taken: Prosecuted in civil court. Remarks: none.

SEMI-MONTHLY REPORT of Outrages by Blacks against Whites in the Southern District of North Carolina, for the fifteen days ending 13th August, 1866.

Date: 7th August 1866. Place: Bladen County. By whom: Thomas Hurt. Against whom: Sancho Gillespie. Nature of outrage: Assault and battery. Action taken: Turned over to civil authorities. Remarks: none.

Date: 7th August 1866. Place: Elizabethtown, Bladen County, N. C. By whom: Wm. Sutton. Against whom: Jno. Smith. Action taken: (blank). Remarks: In case of Wm. Sutton who committed an assault on Jno. Smith. The justice of the peace before whom the trial was had showed a disposition to favor Sutton and discharged him because the negro was hurt too badly to appear. I procured the warrant and the costs had to be paid by me. Threats were made that if I arrested Sutton I would be killed &c. No reports of outrages by blacks against white has been reported. No outrages reported.
