William Dallas "Dal" King was born 13 March, 1846 to George Washington King and his wife Amy Munce. His place of birth was probably the Washington King homestead which was located on land that had been sold to Washington by James Munce and John Munce. This was located on present day Reedy Meadow Road in Bethel Township. Dal lost his father when he was about 8 years old. The family later lived with grandparents James and Sarah White Munce according to census records.
