NE portion of Lincoln/Burke County


This page provides a pictorial view of the original land grants of Burke and Lincoln Counties. This land became Catawba County after the formation in 1842.

NE portion of Lincoln/Burke County Land Grants

 From Burke County, NW of Gunpowder Creek, North of the Catawba River and south to the Settlemyre property, south of current Interstate-40, near the headwaters of Henry River, forms the western boundary of this map. The NE part of the map forms the eastern boundary of Catawba, near today's Oxforn section, south to the Conrad Poovy property, north of today's Mountain Creek township forms the eastern boundary.
