Catawba County Soldiers

The following is a photographic record of the final
resting places of brave Catawba soldiers.

They died elsewhere, or never received a proper burial.
This is how we choose to honor them in a final rememberence.

Dana Drum, 2nd great granddaughter of Jonas Hunsucker relates the events in the life of Jonas as well as his last days. Behind her, Ken Johnson, Commander, CF Connor Camp 849, SCV, will also tell of Company E, 32nd Regiment and the terrible conditions under which Jonas suffered at Point Lookout, Maryland, before he died on August 27, 1864.
