Robert Alley of Corpus Christi, TX has offered the following:
"Regarding the photograph of CSA veterans, myself and several family members believe the gentleman at the top row right ( last standing) is F. Monroe Alley, served in 26th NCT 62-65, enlisted in Co. C (Wilkes Volunteers) and resided in Wilkes Co., was wounded at the Wilderness, and Gettysburg, captured at Petersburg in Oct 1864 imprisoned at Pt. Lookout MD. Paroled in March 1865. He moved to Catawba Co. in 1870 -72 or so where he farmed until his death in 1916. We know he attended a reunion at about that time. He is buried at Hopewell Church. I have seen the newspaper photo in the past but it wasn't clear. Perhaps you have a clearer copy, Below is a photo of F. Monroe Alley taken at about that time for your consideration."
