1860 CENSUS OF CUMBERLAND COUNTY (Kingsbury and Fayetteville Districts)

Kingsbury was located in present day Linden area and was once known as Chaufington. It was the county seat and the courthouse was located there. (Chaff by definition is the husk on grain) Bradley and Sharples had an Inn there before moving to Wilmington in the 1760's
