GRAHAM   November 08, 2005
I found my GGGGrandmother Rachael GRAHAM and my GGGrandfather Archibald GRAHAM with his brother
Malcolm James GRAHAM in the
1850 Census, Fayetteville District, Cumberland County, Visitation #271, Family #280 (Page # 18 OR 181).
They are listed as follows:

Rachael GRAHAM 45 F
Archibald GRAHAM 17 M Laborer
Malcolm J. GRAHAM 15 M Laborer

I have not been able to link Rachel GRAHAM to her husband prior to 1850. I suspect that it was Daniel
Graham, listed in QuWhiffle District, Cumberland County in the 1830 Census, but I have not been able to
confirm this link. Rachel would have been about 25 in 1830 and the above Daniel was listed as "of twenty
and under thirty" with one female also listed in his household as "of twenty and under thirty." This
Daniel was born in 1800 according to a family tree I located on the internet, but that site does not
list a spouse and only listed ancestral and no descendant information. Rachel was born in 1804-1805.
Archibald W. was born in 1833 and Malcolm J was born in 1835. The 1840 census no longer listed any
Daniel Graham in a proper age group (There was one Daniel between 70-80 years old living alone) nor
did it list Rachel as head of household. I suppose it is possible that she moved in with another
family if something happened to Daniel between 1830 and 1840 or that she was just simply missed on
the census? I understand that this was quite common back then. I would appreciate any help in
connecting Rachel GRAHAM to the proper male GRAHAM and additional ancestral information on that GRAHAM.
I am willing to share the descendant information that I have on my family. David Graham Hassell

William Henry PURVIANCE TAMS was born in Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina
on December 8, 1824. He was the son of Mary Brownlow PURVIANCE TAMS. She died May 2, 1830 and
is buried in Philadephia, Pennsyvlania. Does anyone know which cemetery? Was there a notice
in the 1830s newspaper regarding her death?

When William Henry PURVIANCE TAMS died in Raleigh Springs, Virginia on August 2, 1873, the

McNEILL / DANIELS   June 13, 2005
I am seeking information on Daniel McNEILL Sr. (b. abt 1730, NC - d. 1805 Columbia Co., GA) married
aft 1750 to Sarah (unknown maiden name, possibly DANIELS). They had at least 7 children, possibly
more. They were: Daniel Jr. (b. abt 1758), Mary, Sarah, Amey, Catherine, Nancy Ann, Jesse [son].
It is said that the family removed to Columbia Co., GA between 1770-1780 after a disagreement with
a local government officer. I specifically need parentage & siblings for Daniel Sr. and confirmation
of Sarah's maiden name if possible. I suspect Daniel is son of an Archibald McNEILL, though I have no
proof. There is an Archibald named in every generation after Daniel Sr. Any information or research
suggestions would be appreciated. I will gladly share the information I have on his descendants.

CAMPBELL / HOOKS / GODFREY   May 01, 2005
My Mom was Velma aka Thelma Godfrey, Her Father: William Henry Godfrey, B. 1869 Cumberland County N C,
what is now Fayetteville. D. 1931 Nichols SC, buried @ Riverside Cemetery along with my Grand Mother
Hester (hettie) Jane CAMPBELL, HOOKs GODFREY. Her father was Daniel Campbell b. 1813/14 in NC Married
Elizabeth nln b. 1830/31 SC info provided by Marty Grant.

1850 census, Darlington District SC list them:
Washington Campbell B. 1850
Judge L " B.1851
John B 1853
Emma B 1858
James B 1860
Alexander B. 1862
Frances (female) B. 1865
Hester Jane B. 1867

All in the home with parents 1850. By 1870 they were in Sumter County SC

In 1880 the census finds John, Frances and Hester living as boarders in Marlboro County SC. You have to
assume the parents died. I recall my Mom talking about the blacks uprising and killing her relatives, and
this might have been the occasion she was speaking of. There was another child, his name was Early who I
am told was raised by people of the name of Outlaws. He is not to be found. I am having one heck of a time
with this.

Hettie Jane was a widow with near grown children when she married Billy W H Godfrey. He married
into a huge tobacco farm. and was very successful with it. I just have a feeling about all this. I think
from the Scottish Settlement, Hester knew her fathers relatives and friends and some how knew of Billy
GODFREY from that. I just think her Father was also from that area as well. Anyway, I'm stumped on this one.
any ideas? Betty Treadway Parker

Seeking anyone who has MCALLISTER lineage or knowledge. Most of my folks are from Tyrrell

Cape Fear River Argyll colonists (rooted in Argyll Scotland) and my Tyrrell roots. We have
a few MCALLISTER tombstones there, but there are supposed to be a lot in/around Hoke county
as well. Perhaps with your help we'll be able to find the link. Is anyone missing a James,
a Robert, or a Hector MCALLISTER in their family tree? I can tell you where they are buried!
