ELLIS CEMETERY

Seventy-First Township, Cumberland County, 1850-1918.
Located on a wooded ridge (302' contour) above Stewart's Creek
southeast of the intersection of MacRidge and Chicken Roads, 
in the vicinity of military grid coordinates PJ 796 849.  
The cemetery is surrounded by two strands of barbed wire fence 
supported by 9 posts, encompassing an area approximately 28'x 46'
and is marked "OFF LIMITS" on the north side.  There are 
seventeen markers:  the oldest being for John Ellis (1832-1850)
and the most recent the infant son of Jesse and Fannie Ellis 
(1918).  All of headstones are east-facing with the footstones 
facing to the west.

KNOX STREET

Manchester Township, late 19th or early 20th century. One grave (183_) located in a wooded area west of Knox Street (220' contour) between the eastern and western forks of Beaver Creek approximately 325' to the south of Honeycutt Marshalling Yard. The grave is surrounded by a 14'x 14' fence with four posts supporting two strands of barbed wire. The marker could have faced either east or west.

White Georgia Marble marker base with beveled edges. Four fragments of a flat arch top marker lie on the ground, face-up in front of the base. Only a portion of the raised letter epitaph remains. There is no footstone.
