11 Dec 1824 - Charles HARRIS in open Court, preparatory to Naturalization, reports himself as follows:  35 years old; 
born in Ayrshire in Scotland; owing allegiance once to the King of the United Kingdoms & Great Britain & Ireland; 
arrived at Port of Wilmington in NC in 1817; now resident of the Cumberland Co; took the Oath to NC.

11 Dec 1824 - It appears to the Court that John CROW has resided within the US more than 8 years, that he has resided 
within the state of NC 5 years, that during his residence in NC he has behaved as a man of good moral character, 
attached to the principles of the Constitution of the US & well disposed to the good order & happenings of the same; 
said John CROW native of Dundee in Scotland age 36, on 9 Sep 1818 in state of NY duly reported himself according to 
the acts of Congress; certificate of such filed in this Court; John CROW did declare more than 3 years since his 
intention of becoming a citizen of the US, renounced allegiance to his Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of 
Great Britain & Ireland; he has sworn the necessary oaths to become a Citizen of the US.  Said John CROW admitted 
as a Citizen of the US.
