| William Brinkley "Bink" Tillett was born in Wanchese, Dare Co., NC on October 30, 1875 to Thomas E. & Sophia Frances (Daniels) Tillett. He died January 24, 1947. He married Mary Jane Winn on January 14, 1894. "Mary Bink", as she was commonly known, was born in Jarvisburg, Currituck Co. on November 15, 1873 and died in Wanchese on May 31, 1959. She was the daughter of George & Mary Jane (Gregory) Winn. William and "Mary Bink" are buried in the Tillett Cemetery in Wanchese. To them were born 8 children: 1) Sadie Rae Tillett (1894-1973); 2) Jennings Bryan "Toby" Tillett (1896-1958); 3) Thomas Dewey Tillett (1898-1971); 4) Dola Leston Tillett (1900-1995); 5) Martha J. "Mattie" Tillett (c. 1902 -???); 6) Brucie P. Tillett (1903-1969); 7) Hiram Gregory "Sam" Tillett (1907-1974); 8) Lee Chester Tillett (1912-1984). |
