Truxson Sykes

Truxson Sykes was born in Currituck County, NC on June 17, 1863 and died there on October 11, 1954. He was the son of Thomas Sykes and Margaret ???. He married (first) Frances Hunt, the daughter of William and Emily Dennis Hunt. Their children were John Arthur, William Curtis, Ella, Harvey, Sidney, and Frances Sykes. He married (second) Mary Gregory, the daughter of James and Pennie Case Gregory. Their children were Grady, Booker, Frederick Rockford, and Walter Raleigh Sykes. He spent most of his life in Mamie and is buried there at Pleasant Branch Baptist Church.
