Currituck Co. Will Book 3, p. 106
In the name of God Amen. I Josias NICHOLSON of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being in reasonable health and of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God for it, do make this instrument of writing my Last Will and Testament, and calling to mind that it is ordained for man once to die, I do dispose of what little estate it hath been pleased God to give me, in the following manner.
Item. The first of all I give and bequeath unto my Son James Nicholson WARD all land; also three feather beds, and all the rest of my estate within doors and without to him and his heirs forever. (Excepting the use of my estate to my Wife Frankey NICHOLSON her natural widowhood) And I leave my Wife Franky my whole Executor to this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this Twenty third day of September one thousand eight hundred and ten.
