In the name of God, Amen. The 14th day of July 1817, I Christopher O'NEAL of Kinnekeet Banks, in the County of Currituck, being very sick of body, being in perfect mind and memory, thanks be it to the Almighty God for it, and calling to mind the mortality of my body, that it is appointed for all men once to die, and I do therefore put my Last Will and Testament in writing therefore, and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of the Almighty God, that gave it, and for my body I command into the earth, to be biried in a christian like manner, at the discretion of my executor nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same. First of my desire is, that all my lawful debts to be paid and as touching of my worldy estate, I give as in manner and form following.
I give and bequeath unto Son Feals one bind cow and yearling.
I give and bequeath unto my Son Alphers O'NEAL the land and all improvements belonging to it, where I now live, and also three beds and furniture, and bed steads, and likewise two cows, one riding horse, and one young mare, one negro man by the name of Charles, and three head of sheep. I leave my schooner boat to be sold, and all the remains of my property in doors and out doors, and the money for to be put to the use of raising my Son Alphers and giving him schooling, after paying my debts out of it. I do appoint Pharoah FARRO to be my whole and lawful Executor and do hereby acknowledge this to be my Last Will and Testament and make void and disannul all others whomsoever shall oppose it. As witness my hand and seal.
