Currituck County Wills
In the name of God, Amen. I Nathaniel QUIDLEY of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being at present in reasonable health and sound of mind and memory, considering the certainity of death and the uncertainty of life, do make these presents following my Last Will and Testament Viz.
Item: the first, I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Catharine QUIDLEY the house and land whereon I now live to her and her heirs forever. I also give unto my beloved Wife Catharine QUIDLEY twenty five acres of land on the Ingreen Island to her and her heirs forever. I also give unto my beloved Wife Catherine QUIDLEY one negro man by the name of Peter to her and her heirs forever. I also give unto my beloved Wife Catharine QUIDLEY one cow and calf, one sow and pigs, and six dry hogs, and all my moveable property within doors and without, not before given away in this will, say one horse, one canoe, one net, one chest, and various other articles too tedious to mention. I give and bequeath unto my beloved Brothers and Sisters Viz. to the heirs of John QUIDLEY five shillings to be equally divided amongst them, to the heirs of Demcy QUIDLEY five shillings to be equally divided amongst them, to Joseph QUIDLEY five shillings, to Peggy AUSTIN five shillings, to Bartlet QUIDLEY five shillings and to Sally QUIDLY five shillings, and I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my beloved Wife Catharine QUIDLEY my whole and sole Executrix (her paying all my just debts and legacies as above stated) to this my Last Will and Testament, revoking all and every other will or wills by me made. As witness my hand the 4th day of March 1818.
