In the name of God Amen, I Archelus TURTNE of Currituck County, being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God, do this sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two, Make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say, first, I give and bequeath to my six children Abnor TURTNE, Lovey TURTNE, Betsey TURTNE, Samuel TURTNE, Georgele TURTNE, and Salley TURTNE, all my land and negroes to be equally divided between them six, when the youngest is of age, agreeable to law, to them and their heirs forever and for my land to be rented out yearly and my negroes hired out yearly till the youngest there is arrived to age by law.

Item I leave, all the rest of my property within doors and without to be sold for the raising and schooling my six above named children, all my estate to be equally divided between them six to them and their heirs forever

And I hereby make and ordain my worthy friend Caleb SEARS and Mitchael SIMMONS executors of this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I the said Archelus TURTNE have to this my Last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year above writen.
