Volentine Creeff was Married to Anjelico Holms the 11 day of Febu-- 1841 all of Tyrell County NC

[NOTES: Valentine Creef, son of Joseph Creef & Mary Amanda "Polly" Holmes, was born Aug. 26, 1816.

Marriage Bonds on the Tyrrell Co. website has the marriage bond date as March 1, 1841 and has the groom listed as Valentin Creef and bride as Angelica Creef.

Valentine & Angelico are found in the 1850 & 1860 Tyrrell Co. census and the 1870 Dare census.  According to the 1880 Mortality census for Dare County, Valentine died in March 1880 at the age of 60 from typhoid fever & consumption.  An inventory of his estate was taken May 6, 1880 by A.W. Jones, adm'r.  A second sale occurred in East Lake on Jan 20, 1881 at which time Lyman Creef bought the family Bible for $1.00 among other items.  Dare Co. Record of Accounts, pg. 271 states that A.W. Jones, adm'r., in account current with the estate of Valentine Creef--

   Paid to Thos. S. Owens & wife their part 3.60
   Paid to Daniel Johnson & wife their part 3.60

BIRTHS

Mary Mande Creeff the daugh[smudge] of Volentine Creeff and Anjelico Was borned the 22 of January 1842

Martha W. Creeff the daughter of Vo[smudge] Creff an Anjelico his wiff was borned the 24 day of March 1844

Allis D Creff the daught of Volentine Creff an Anjelico his wife was born the 9 day August 1846

Limon Creeff the Son of Volentine Creff an Anjelico his wife Was born the April the 30 day 1849

Arsena an Carsena twins the daughters of Volentine Creff an Anjelico his wife was borned the March the 14 day 185[smudge] [1852]

[NOTES: According to the Tyrrell Co. Marriage Bonds, Mary Amanda Creef married James H. "Jimmy" Pinner in Tyrrell Co. on Feb. 29, 1858, however, 1858 was not a leap year so the date may have been Feb. 28 or Mar. 1.  It was James' 2nd marriage.  James married again in 1874 so Mary Amanda may have died between 1870-1874.

Alice D. Creef married c1866 to Daniel Johnson of Roanoke Island.  According to her death certificate, Alice died in the Salem Twp. of Pasquotank Co. on May 15, 1916 of chronic bronchitis.  Her parents were given as Valentine Creef and Alice Holmes of "Dear" Co.  She & Daniel are buried in the Gaston Meads Cemetery in Weeksville, NC.

Lymon G. Creef married Mary E. Basnight in East Lake, Dare Co. on June 6, 1875. Mary died on Oct. 24, 1884 and is buried in East Lake Methodist Church Cemetery.  Lyman died on May 22, 1834 and is buried in Old Hollywood Cemetery in Elizabeth City, Pasqutoank Co., NC.

Arsenia Creef, one of the twins, married Thomas Steward Owens in East Lake on July 27, 1871.  She died in 1928 and she and Thomas are buried in Old Hollywood Cemetery in Elizabeth City, NC.

Carsena (often seen as "Carthenia" and in one place as "Catherine"), the other twin, married Joseph Daniel Everton in East Lake on Aug. 6, 1873.  She died Aug. 10, 1944 in Gum Neck, Tyrrell Co., NC.  [see her 1944 obituary which has several errors in it]

DEATHS

Nancy Elisabeth Creeff departed this life Sept the 23 day 1869.

Martha W Creeff departed this life the 24 March 1850
