Gray Cemetery (Avon)

This cemetery is located in Avon, North Carolina.  From Hwy. 12 in Avon take Harbor Rd. (SR 1224), and go about 0.5 mile.  Turn right on C.C. Gray Road and go a short distance.  The cemetery will be on the left.  There is a Miller Cemetery which abuts this Gray Cemetery with no apparent delineation between the two.  You can access the Miller Cemetery by walking through the Gray Cemetery OR, on Harbor Road, go one block south past C.C. Gray Rd. and turn right on a short, unnamed lane.  Google Maps for these 2 cemeteries.  The Miller Cemetery is about 50' up the lane behind a residence.  There is better parking on the Gray side because the road is wider and you can pull off without being in front of a house.  The little lane is narrow but you can navigate it fine but no convenient parking along the side.

Dates that were underground or could not be read are in brackets and were taken from Sacred to Their Memory by Lois Johnson Meekins and Amy Midgett Gamiel; © 2001.  Photographs were taken in January 2014 by Candy Roth.
