Parker - Ballance Cemetery (Hatteras)

From Hwy. 12 in Hatteras, take the southern entrance of Eagle Pass Rd. and go a little more than .03 mile.  The cemetery will be on the left very close to the road and in weeds.  The cemetery is not cared for and only 2 tombstones were found.  Sacred To Their Memory by Lois Johnson Meekins and Amy Gamiel states that this area was sometimes referred to as "Barrel of Bones Cemetery" because human bones were taken from the beach area and were buried here.  Photographs were taken in 2013 by Candy Roth.
