In god we trust

Know all men by these presents that I Sparrow P. Midgett for the Love and affection that I Have for my wife Maria A. Midgett I give to Her all of my property at my Decease to Have and to Hold and to use In aney way that She may See proper During Her natural Life.

and I Sparrow P. Midgett at the time of making these presents am in my Right mind and memory tho very Pore Health tho capable of making a will

and I for the love and afection that I Have for my wife Maria A. Midgett want and Desire that She may have all my property to use to Her own benifit During Her natural life.

In the name of god let this Be done being my Last will and testament there fore I witness my Hand and Seal this Sept 29 in the year of our Lord 1900.

         Dare County       }
    A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Sparrow P. Midgett, deceased, is exhibited before me the undersigned Clerk of the Superior Court for said County by Nathan O. Payne and Edward Payne, and the due execution thereof by the said Sparrow P. Midgett, by the oath and examination of Nathan O. Payne and Edward Payne, the subscribing witnesses thereto, who being duly sworn doth depose and say, and each for himself deposeth and saith that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown him purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Sparrow P. Midgett, that the said Sparrow P. Midgett did in the presents of these deponents subscribe his name at the end of said paper writing which is now shown as aforesaid and which bears date of the 29th day of September 1900.
    And the deponent further saith That the Said Sparrow P. Midgett, the testator aforesaid, did at the time of subscribing his name as aforesaid, declare the said paper writing so subscribed by him and exhibited to be his last Will and Testament, and this deponent did thereupon subscribe their names at the end of said Will as an attesting witness thereto, and at the request and in the presence of the said testator.
    And this deponent further saith that at the same time when the said testator subscribed his name to the said last Will as aforesaid, and at the time of the deponents subscribing their names as an attesting witness thereto, as aforesaid, the said Sparrow P. Midgett was of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a will, and was not under any restraint to the knowledge, information or belief of this deponent.  And further these deponents say not.

Severally Sworn to and subscribed this 27th day of March 1901 before me.

    It is therefore considered and adjudged by the Court that the said paper writing and every part thereof is the last Will and Testament of Sparrow P. Midgett Dec'd.  Let the said Will together with the probate be recorded and filed.  This 27th day of March 1901.
