Cedar Grove – Mrs. Carrie McDade Compton, 84, of Cedar Grove (Orange County, NC) died Sunday morning in the Methodist Retirement Home in Durham (Durham County, NC) after a long illness. She was a native or Orange County and a member of Eno Presbyterian Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11AM Tuesday in Eno Presbyterian Church by Rev Bob Ellis and the Rev Stephen C Compton. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mebane, NC.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ben “Camelia” Compton Lloyd of Efland, four sons, Fred A Compton and Charlie H Compton, both of Graham (Alamance County, NC) Kenneth B Compton of Winston-Salem (Forsythe County, NC) and Burch Compton of Hillsborough (Orange County, NC); three brothers, West McDade of Richmond, VA, Paul McDade of High Point, NC and Milton McDade, of Mebane; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Andy Looyed, Russell Compton, David Compton, Keigh Compton, Robert Compton, Sam Compton, Joe Compton and Don Compton.
