This Indenture made this the 17th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & Ninety three Between Kirby Sanders of the County of Franklin in the State of North Carolina of the one part and Jacob Hartsfield of the same County and State of the other part Witnesseth that the said Kirby Sanders for and in consideration of the sum of four and a third pound Silver Dollars to him in hand paid at or before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt is hereby acknowledged and the said Kirby Sanders to him the said Jacob Hartsfield his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcell of land in Franklin County containing five acres be the same more or less Begining at a poplar in the run to the mouth of the Miry Branch thence the various courses of the run of the Miry Branch to Jacob Hartsfield sd. old line then east along the said line to the first station to conclude five acres of land be the same more or less together with all appurtenances to the said land belonging and appertain'g and all his right title and interest in and to the said premises and every part and parcell thereof with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to have and to hold the said tract and parcell of land with all profits and priviledges to the same belonging to the said Jacob Hartsfield his heirs and assigns forever he or they paying tax for the same after the date hereof and the said Kirby Sanders his heirs and assigns excrs. & admrs. doth covenant and agree that the above granted premises are free and clear of all charges and incumbrances whatever and he the said Kirby Sanders for hiimself his heirs excrs. admrs. or assigns shall and will warrant secure and defend to property and sale of the said land & premises to the said Jacob Hartsfield his heirs excrs. admrs. or assigns forever against the lawful claim or demand of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Kirby Sanders hath hereunto set and put his hand and seal the day and year first above written.
