The Last Will & Testament of Thos. Cook Decd.

 In the name of God Amen I Thos Cook of North Carolina Franklin County being of sound
and perfect mind and memory Blessed be God do this Seventeenth day of February One
Thousand Seven Hundred & Ninety Eight make and Publish this my Last Will and Testament in
maner following (vist)

First I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Benjamin Cook Two Hundred Silver Dollars
when recovers of James Richards or his heirs Execrs or Admrs. As per Bond with the Interest
thereof__________

(2ndly) I give and bequeath unto by beloved Daughters namely Elizabeth Hunt & Tabitha Su?
Gthe Balance of the above mentioned bond which is one Hundred Dollars to be Equally Divided
Between them when recoverd as above mentiond_________________

  (Thirdly) I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Wm. Cook one Negro woman named
Fanny, also one Negro man named James, Expressly on these terms.
       If the sd. Wm. Cook do make or cause to be made me or my son James Cook afirm right to
the Land & Plantation where as I now live other ways my will & meaning is for my son James
Cook to have the said Negro man James____________

 (Forthly) I give and Bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Sarah Fuller one Negro woman
Frances & her youngest child Penelope with the other things that I have here to fore lent
her.___________

(Fifthly) I give and Bequeath unto my beloved son James Cook two Negroes namly Betty &
Jeremiah
together with the Land and Plantation whereon I now live also one Negroe man James if
the Wm. Cook doth make or cause to be made to me or my son James cook a Firm right to the
Land & Plantation. My Will & Desire is that my son James Cook should act for himself at Eighteen
years of age.

 (Sixthly) I give & bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Margaret Walker all the articles I have
heretofore let her have also one negroe woman named Sarah after the Death of my wife Amy
Cook.

 (Seventhly) I give and Bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Nancy Cook the value of one
Negroe girl about the age of Ten or Eleven years____________

  (Eighthly) I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Drury Cook all my wearing apparel.

(Ninthly) I give and Bequeath unto my beloved wife Amy Cook the Balance of my Estate
consisting of Two Negroe men Jeffrey & Epsen together with all my Stocks House hold Good &
during her life or widowhood to support her self and children and to give to her children as she sees
they need Stock House hold furniture ___

And I here by make and ordained my Trusty Friends
Wm. Cook & Bartholomew Fuller Executors of this my last will & Testament & also my wife Amy
Cook Executrix ___

In witness where of the sd. Thos. Cook have to my last will & Testament set
my hand and seal the day & year first above written sign?d seald published and declared by the sd.
Thos. Cook the Testator as his last will & Testament in the presence of us who were present at the
time of the sealing and signing there of.
