In the name of God, amen, I, Sarah Dent, of Franklin County and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory (blessed be God) do this 27th day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four make & publish this my last will and testament in manner following. That is to say:

First I lend my property of every description consisting of cattle, hogs, household, and kitchen furniture, and sundry other articles too tegeous to mention, I lend all the above property to Jeffrey Pearce and his wife Anne for the purpose of maintaining my daughter Mary and after the death of Mary my will is that the above property shall go to above said Jeffrey and his wife Anne and their Heirs.

In witness whereof I the said Sarah Dent have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written.

Signed, sealed, published, and declared by the said Sarah Dent as her last will and testament in presence of us who were present at the time of signing and sealing thereof.
