Will and testament of Lucy A. Mandley

In the name of God, Amen. I LUCY A. MANDLEY 79 years old in the year of our Lord 1930, and of or in my good mind do make and declare this my last will and testament.

1. That ROSA E. SILVER my daughter shall have after my death my home of 16 ½ acres of land now known as my home place.

2. That L. D. MANDLEY, MARTH A. MANDLEY, MARY JANE RICHARDSON my other three children, shall be given two dollars ($2.00) each.

I nominate and appoint OCTAVIOUS SILVER, Executor.

LUCY A. MANDEY, X her mark.

We the undersigned witnesses do testify that LUCY A. MANDLEY made her mark to this last will and testament, April 24, 1930 in our presence.

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA S.S. IN THE SUPERIOR COURT.
HALIFAX COUNTY.
 

A Paper writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of LUCY A. MANDLEY deceased, is exhibited before me, the undersigned Clerk of the Superior Court for said County, by OCTAVIOUS SILVER the executor therein mentioned, and due execution thereof by the said LUCY A. MANDLEY is proved by the oath and examination of JESSE McWM. BOONE & JOHN FOX the subscribing witnesses thereto, who being duly sworn, doth depose and say and each for himself deposeth and sayeth that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown purporting to be the last will and testament of LUCY A. MANDLEY, that the said LUCY A. MANDLEY in ther presence of this deponent subscribed her name at the end of said paper writing, now shown as aforesaid, and which bears date of the 24 dy of April 1930.

AND THE DEPONENT FURTHER SAITH, that the said LUCY A. MANDLEY the testator aforesaid did at the time of subscribing her name as aforesaid, declare the said paper writing so subscribed by her and exhibited to be LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT, and this deponent did thereupon subscribe his name at the end of said Will as an attesting witness thereto and at the request and in the presence of said testator. And this deponent further saith, that at the said time when the testator subscribed her name to the end of said Will as aforesaid, and at the time of deponents subscribing his name as an attesting witness thereto, as aforesaid the said LUCY A. MANDLEY was of sound mind and memory, and of full age to execute a will, and was not under any restraint to the knowledge information or belief of this deponent; and further these deponents say not.
