Confederate Records from National Archives for J. H. STEWART
  Posted April 24, 2004

Today received copies of Confederate Records from National Archives for J. H. STEWART. They are a little faded out but still quite readable. They include the alternate name J. K. Stewart (Civil War Soldiers & Sailors at http://www.civilwar.nps.gov/cwss/Personz_Detail.cfm?PER_NBR=1491716 does same). Guess someone wrote an "H" that looked like a "K". There is also a note on a Hospital Muster Roll that J. H. Stewart was "Present" with the remark that his name appears in Cols of names present & Recd payment as J. "A." Stewart. He seems to have spent a great deal in Prisoner of War camps! Patricia Stuart Sistare.
