A Harnett County Marriage Bond
Shirley Akins Brown's g-g-grandparents were parents of her g-grandfather, James A. Akins who was the father of her grandfather, John W. Akins. John W. Akins was the only child of James A. Akins and Jenette F. Rowland who left NC in the early 1900's and moved to Baltimore, Maryland with his family. He came to Baltimore to go to Johns Hopkins Hospital because of severe asthma and cataracts. The rest of the family is still in North Carolina (around Fuquay Varina) - names Akins, Adcock, Curl, Davis, Truelove, etc.
