Neil S. Blue, the wealthiest citizen of Hoke county, to whom the War Department recently paid $300,000 for his portion of the Fort
Bragg reservation, was placed on trial in United States Commissioner J.W. Tomlinson's court here today, charged with larceny of 14
miles of wire fence from land which he had sold to the Government. The case was continued until Friday after several government wit-
nesses had been heard, including three men who testified that they removed twelve and a half miles of the fencing at Blue's orders.
They were to receive half the wire, they declared.

The Government's case was handled by Lieutenant Charles F. Fletter, provost marshal of Fort Bragg, while Mr. Blue was represented
by E.S. Smith and W.B. McQueen of Raeford.
