Robert Howard Family History
Clint Howard - Although no record of Clint Howard can be found thus far in the census records, we know that he was the father of Robert Howard from Robert's 1925 death certificate filed in Hyde Co. in Bk. 5, pg. 141. Clint Howard was also listed as the father of York Howard who was born, according to the 1900 Hyde Co. census, in July 1858 and died in Hyde Co. in 1937. His death certificate indicated his mother was Celia Howard. From the 1866 cohabitation records of Hyde County we find that Clint Howard and Celia Frances Howard had cohabited for 24 years and were owned by Cornelius Howard. Thus, the assumption is that Robert and York Howard were both sons of Clint and Celia Frances Howard. Celia Frances was found in the 1880 Hyde Co. census (Currituck Twp.) and was living one house away from Cornelius Howard, the man that had formerly owned she and her husband, Clint.
