This black cemetery was surveyed in 1974 by Marjorie T. Selby and members of the Snow Hill Baptist Church and the Star of Zion Disciple Church. Some of the gravestones were also surveyed in the summer of 2002 by Lason Mackey-Hines and in March 2012 by Maldine Whitaker Wallace and her niece Beverly Merrick Mann.
