Source: Hall of Records at the Maryland State Archives in Annapolis, Maryland Land Office (Patents) - Libre 18, folio 152 - 2 November 1674 A List of Servants Transported by Samuell Gibbons of Bristoll in the Ship Batchelor of Bristoll. Transcribed by John B. McGowan, 1990.
Note: Judging from entries from "The Bristol Registers of Servants sent to Foreign Plantations 1654-86" by Peter Wilson Coldham, the "Batchelor of Bristol" was clearly picking up passengers from Bristol, England in the 1670's. The voyage from Bristol, England to St. Mary's, Maryland would have taken the ship around the south of Ireland, passing the ports at Dublin, Wexford, Waterford and Cork, all and any of which would be natural emigration ports, especially for Catholics, who would wish to go to Maryland, rather than Virginia, which was chiefly Church of England.
