The above John Magoune (McGowan) (c.1748-c.1800) was a son of William Magowne (McGowan), Sr. (c.1708-c.1782) and Frances (Hendricks) McGowan. John married Hannah (Unknown). They were parents of two known child: a daughter, Sarah "Sally" McGowan, who is believed to have married Jacob Toxey (Torksey), and who moved to Washington Co., NC; and a son, Job McGown (McGowan) (c1779-by1860) of Gum Neck in Tyrrell Co., NC.
