Louisa McGowen's land grant was in that part of Wright County which became Webster County in 1855. Her 40 acres was located in the Northeast 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 13 in Township 28, Range 17. Therefore her land was just to the southeast of the town of Seymour.
