1775 Will of
WILLIAM MAGOUNE (McGOWAN)
of
St. Mary's County,
Maryland and Tyrrell County, North Carolina
In the Name of God amen I William Magoune of Terrel County in the Province of North Carolina Being weak in body But of Sound Memory Blessed be God do this This thirteenth Day of September In the Year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred & seventy Five, do Make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner following ---
That is to say first I give to My Son Joseph Magoune one feather bead and boulster and one pear of Iron Weges and one old Cheast,
Also I Give and Bequeath to My Son John Magoune one Gun,
Also I Give and bequeath to My son William Magoune one Gun,
Also I Give and Bequeath to My Son Thomas Magoune one pair of Stilards and one pair of iron Weges,
Also I Give and bequeath to My Son John Magoune and William Magoune and Thomas Magoune the Land Whereon I Now live to (be) Eqally Devided Between them and that they shall Not Sel nor Make sale of the Land to person except to each Other,
Also I Give and Bequeath to My Daughter Mary Magoune one feather Bead and furniture and One Cheast,
Also I Give to My loving Wife Frances Magoune the Use of one feather Bead and furniture and one Desk during her life and after her Death to my Daughter Elizabeth Magoune,
Also I Give and Bequeath to My Son James Magoune one Large iron froe.
Note: the Word Sel is inter line in twentieth line.
Also I Give and bequeath to My Well Beloved Wife Frances Magoune all the rest and Residue of my Goods, Chattels and personal Estate Whatsoever And I Make and ordain her My said Wife sole Executrix of this my last Will in Witness Whereof I, the Said William Magoune have to this My Last Will and Testament. Set My hand and Seal the Day and Year here written:Signed Sealed and Delivered by the Said
