Samuel G. Watson's book was loaned by Miss Mary Fayette Watson to R.T. Bonner & Co. and was copied Sept. 10, 1915. The first entry states "Samuel G. Watson's Book bought of Mr. Potts in Washington March the 10th 1837 for which I gave 2/" and is signed Samuel G. Watson

• Charles A. Watson, the son of Samuel Gibbs Watson and Nancy his wife, was born Oct. the first 1839.
• Casandra Jane, the daughter of Samuel Gibbs Watson and Nancy his wife, was born the 7th day of May 1841.
• Zady Gibbs, the daughter of Samuel G. Watson and Nancy his wife, was born October the 5th 1842.
• William Independence, the son of Samuel G. Watson and Nancy his wife, was born July the Fourth A.D. 1845.
• James Henry, the son of Samuel G. Watson and Nancy his wife, was born November the 24th A.D. 1846.
• Samuel Mann, the son of Samuel G. Watson & Nancy his wife, was born Oct. the Fifteenth 1851.
• St. John, the son of Samuel G. Watson and Nancy his wife, was born the Twelfth of May 1853.
• Zadah Gibbs, the daughter of S.G. Watson and Nancy his wife, died June the 26th 1854.
• Anna Mary, the daughter of Samuel G. Watson and Nancy his wife, was born Feb. the 17th 1855.
• Nancy Watson, wife of Samuel G. Watson, Sr. Died Dec. the 6th 1860 at South Creek & is buried Hyde County at our former residence that we sold James R. Fisher.
• Charles Augustus Watson, son of Samuel G. Watson and Nancy Watson his wife, died February the 20th [no year given] at Manasses Junction in Virginia while serving his country as a volunteer in the 4th Regiment North Carolina State Troops. He was elected 2d Sergeant by the Company to the place of Orderly & subsequently to that of Junior Lieutenant.
• Samuel G. Watson and Ann W. Watts was married April the Third 1862.
• Ann W. Watson, the wife of Samuel G. Watson, died January 5th 1863 at his residence in Beaufort County, North Carolina.
• Samuel Gibbs Watson died Aug. 23, 1892.
• St. John Watson, son of Samuel G. Watson & Nancy his wife, Departed this life March 16, 1874 at South Creek, Beaufort Co., N.C.
• Samuel Mann Watson, son of Samuel G. & Nancy his wife, died Aug. 18, 1903.
• Casandra Jane Bell, daughter of Samuel G. Watson and Nancy his wife, [died?] March 1st 1907. [Out beside of this date is entered "Feb. 28," but no year is given.]
• William Independence Watson, son of Samuel G. & Nancy Watson, died July 10, 1908.
