Ruby Helen Jarvis was born in Washington, Beaufort Co., N.C. to David Sylvester Jarvis, Jr. and his wife, Missouri Williams. She married Columbus Herman Carawan (1877-1958) Dec. 10, 1901. Both she and Columbus are buried in Soule Cemetery in Hyde County.
