Lucy Ellen Midgette, d/o John Methious Midyette & Nancy Catherine Gaskill Gaskins, was born in Hyde County on February 2, 1891 and died in Roanoke Rapids, Halifax Co., NC in June 1978. She married Lauren David Jarvis, Sr. in Halifax, Halifax Co., NC on May 26, 1919. Lauren David Jarvis, Sr., s/o of John C. Jarvis and Sarah Jane Rascoe, was born Nov. 4, 1878 and died April 8, 1928. Lucy Ellen Midgette and Lauren David Jarvis, Sr. are both buried in Soule Cemetery in Hyde County. Together they had the following children:

  • Sally Catherine Jarvis who was born in Hyde Co. on October 25, 1920.
  • Lauren David Jarvis who was born in Hyde Co. on Dec. 9, 1921.
  • Lucy Delphine "Dell" Jarvis who was born in Hyde Co. on July 18, 1923 and died April 26, 1983.
  • John Grayham Jarvis who was born March 27, 1927
