Uriah & Sarah Harris House

This is known as the Uriah and Sarah Harris house. It is listed in the historic inventory of Hyde County structures which says this about the house -- SARAH HARRIS HOUSE  w side SR 1319 (Roper Lane), .05 mile N of jct with US 264. Engelhard. According to local tradition, this much altered story-and-a jump house was built for Sarah (1858-1934) and Uriah Harris (b. 1854) around 1880.  This house has been torn down and the lot has been cleared of all remains.
