This is a coastal plain cottage built for John West H. Weston circa 1860.  John W. H. Weston, son of Benjamin Weston and Frances "Fanney" Boomer, was born March 4, 1835 and died March 29, 1893. He married Eliza Boomer (1837-1911) on December 14, 1858.  John W.H. & Fanney are both buried at Amity Methodist Church Cemetery in Hyde County.

(Photos kindly submitted by Ken Mason, who says his grandfather, Samuel Watt Gibbs and his family, lived in this house from about 1934-1942.  It appears that renovations and additions were done between 1985-2009 and the trees to the right and left of the house are no longer standing.)
