Feb. 22, 1836 - Elizabeth Ashley, widow of Benjamin B. Ashley, assigns her right of administering on her husband's estate to Benjamin S. Russell.  /s/ Elizabeth [x] Ashley.  Witness: Isaiah H. Spencer

May 30, 1836 - Administrator's Bond in the amount of $500.00 is signed by Benjamin S. Russell, adm'r., with R.M.G. Moore and Jesse B. Lucas as his securities.

May Term 1836 - Petition of Elizabeth Ashley for her one years provision.  She states that her husband, Benjamin B. Ashley died intestate about the month of August 1835 and left her with 3 minor children, to wit: William, Polly and Benjamin Ashley.  /s/ Z. Barrow, Sol. for Pet'r.

May Term 1836 - Geo. Tooley, J.P., John S. Davis, John W. Ballance and John Sawyer were appointed to view the estate of Benjamin B. Ashley and set off to his widow and family provisions for one year.

June 28, 1836 - Articles were laid off to widow Ashley which amounted to $102.25 with administrator paying $47.75 to make a total of $150.00

Aug. Term 1836 - Inventory and account sales of the property of Benjamin B. Ashley, dec'd.  The only buyers at this small sale were I.B. Russell, the widow, A.W. Richards, Peleg Jones and B.T. Mills.  Returned into Court August Term 1836.  /s/ Riley Murray, Clk
