Jan. 9, 1846 - Special Administrator's bond for $1000.00 signed by Israel Brooks, administrator to the estate of William S. Douglass, with R.M.G. Moore and Samuel T. [x] Douglass as his sureties.

Jan. 31, 1846 - Lengthy Account of Sales of the property of William S. Dugless, dec'd., sold on a credit of 6 months by Israel Brooks, Special Adm'r.  Sale amounted to $716.731/2.  Various buyers were: Oliver O Neale, Lafate Dugless, Ananias Sadler, Daniel M. Paine, Joshua White & Elijah Francis.

Feb. 23, 1846 - Administrator's Bond of $2500.00 of Israel Brooks, adm'r. of William S. Douglass, dec'd., with R.M.G. Moore and Wilson Credle as sureties.

April 18, 1846 - 2nd Account of Sales of the property of William S. Dugless, dec'd., sold by Israel Brooks, adm'r.  Mentions "The right of William S. Dugless in the Schooner Mary Frances" bought by Dameron H. Pugh for $352.60.

May Term 1849 - Account current of Israel Brooks, adm'r., of William S. Douglass, dec'd., and of Sam'l. Douglass.  Returned into open Court & ordered to be recorded.  /s/ R.M.G. Moore, Clerk
Amount of Sale by the Special Adm'r. sold on Jan. 31, 1846 - $709.64.  Interest from July 31, 1846 up to Dec. 1, 1848 amounted to $99.34.
Amount of Sale by the adm'r. sold on April 18, 1846 - $361.90.  Interest from Oct. 18, 1846 up to Dec. 1, 1848 amounted to $45.96.
Many notes listed.  Israel Brooks, adm'r., of the estate of William S. Dugless finds the balance due said estate of $449.93.  /s/ Dixon Swindell, Auditor

Beaufort Co., NC; Sept. 23, 1850 - Sheriff's Summons to summon Israel Brooks, adm'r. of William S. Douglass, dec'd., to answer to John Midyett of a plea that he held to him the covenant made between the said Wm. S. Douglass and the said John Midyett of a certain indenture between them...it was broken and not performed.  Damage to John Midyett in the sum of $500.00.  /s/ Thos. H. Smith, Clerk

No date - John Midyett, plaintiff vs Israel Brooks, administrator of Will. S. Douglass, defendant
     This was an action bought upon the covenant contained in the deed.
[The deed was introduced into evidence but was not found in this record.]  The plaintiff took possession of the premises described by the deed and continued in possession until the death of the defendant's intestate, the party to the said deed.  After the death of said intestate a suit of ejectment was brought against the plaintiff by Samuel S. Pugh who had paramount title to the premises.  A judgment was recorded by him against the plaintiff.  The said Pugh evicted the plaintiff from the premises on the 26th of February 1850.  /s/ R.J.       John Midyett vs Israel Brooks, Adm.
This cause came on to be argued upon the transcript of the record from the Supreme Court of Law of Hyde County.  This Court is of the opinion that there is no error in the recording proceeding of the said Supreme Court.  It is considered by the Court here that the said judgment be the same in all things and that the plaintiff recover against the said Brooks as administrator of William S. Douglas, deceased, the sum of $120.00 with interest from Feb. 26, 1850 beside his costs in this suit.  And also $14.43, the cost the Court incurred.  Certified by E.B. Freeman, Clerk

           Spring Term 1851
                John Midyett vs. Isr. Brooks, Adm'r. of Wm. S. Douglass.  The plaintiff recovers $120.00 with interest against the defendant from the eviction in a case dated Feb. 26, 1850.  Defendant appealed.
