Contains Facts, Figures, Names and Locations
“An accurate knowledge of Names and Locations,
Brings Men nearer together, and quickens trade”
[Raleigh, NC: J. A. Jones, Publisher, No. 15, Fayetteville Street]
FATERNAL
This Book will do you good.
Don’t read it, but keep it by you, and refer to it frequently.
This work contains much that you never knew. Our State is rich; you should know it: Look at the records within. There are eighty nine counties in the state, over two hundred mines, and forty Cotton Factories, employing nearly three million dollars of capital. Look at page 181
All the Counties use the Directory. Hundreds of copies are used in the North and the West. From the Directory they get information in detail.
See the 197th page – how we read. Over 2,300 prominent farmers are reported this year. Also, an alphabetical list of Post offices and a thousand other things not given last year.
The Director is now a fixed necessity. To make this book profitable to you, select carefully such names as seem favorable and direct your letters or circulars to them. Frequent communication brings us nearer together – enlivens trade life, and increases the socialities of commercial intercourse.
Our Correspondents and Agents in all the counties will accept our thanks for prompt and valuable services.
A number of gentlemen in Official positions have kindly given us much useful information
