Ben Weaver, 93, of 1341 Cole Mill Road, died at Watts Hospital at 2:40 am today. He was born and reared in Granville County, son of Raynor Weaver and Sylvester “Vester” Mae Roberts Weaver, and he attended the Granville County Schools.
A resident of Durham since 1920, he worked at the Erwin Mill for 25 years until he retired.  He was a member of the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Rowena Shives of Norfolk, VA and Mrs. Shirley Herndon and Mrs. Flora Foreman, both of Durham, five sons, Herman Weaver of Norfolk, VA, Garland Weaver of Greensboro, Winfred Weaver of Pickens, SC, Durant Weaver of Wake Forest and Edward Weaver of Durham; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Carroll of Durham and Mrs. Mary Lucy Nash of Cary; one brother Clyde Weaver of Norfolk, Va; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Clements Funeral Chapel at 2PM tomorrow.  Burial will be in McMannens United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The Rev. Robert Winecoff pastor of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church will conduct the service.        
Pallbearers will be Cleo Martin, Leo Martin, Kivett McGhee, Frank Gibson, Lee Rigsbee and John Foley.
