This Indenture made this 15th day of February in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety nine between Josiah PARKER of the County of Gates in the State of North Carolina of the One part and James BAKER of the County and State Aforesaid of the other, Witnesseth that the said Josiah PARKER for and in Consideration of the Sum of Four Hundred and Fifty five Spanish Milled Dollars to him in hand paid by him the said James BAKER the Receipt whereof he the said Josiah PARKER doth hereby Acknowledge and himself thereunto fully Satisfyd. Contented and paid have bargain’d Sold make over Allien and forever Confirm unto him the said James BAKER and to his Heirs and Assigns forever One Certain plantation and Tract of Land Situate lying and being in the County of Gates aforesaid Begining at the Mouth of the Crooked Branch where it Issueth out of Bennets Creek pocoson thence up the Various Courses of said Branch to a pine Seth ROUNTREEs Corner thence by a Line of Markd. Trees A Northeasterly Course to a Corner pine on the side of the Horsepen Swamp thence down the side of said Swamp to a pine in George OUTLAWs line thence Binding on his said line a Southwesterly Course to the head of A Branch Thence down the Branch its Several Windings to the aforesaid pocoson thence up the side of said pocoson and binding on the Same to the first Station Containing One hundred and forty Acres be the same (more or less) to have and to hold the above bargain’d and Convey’d premises with all and Singular the Wrights [sic] priviledges and hereditamments [sic] unto the Same belonging or in any wise Appertaining thereto to him the said James BAKER and to his Heirs and Assigns in fee Simple I the said Josiah PARKER as to my self my Heirs Executors Administrators shall and will Warrant the above Conveyed premises In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & fixt my Seal this day and date above Mentioned.

This Indenture made this fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and ninety four Between Josiah PARKER & Omy his Wife of the County of Gates in the Province of North Carolina of the One part & James PARKER of the Said County of the Other Part Witnesseth that the Sd. Josiah PARKER & Omy his Wife for & in Consideration of the sum of Twenty five pound Currency of North Carolina allready in hand paid them by the Sd. James PARKER the Receipt of which the Sum [sic] the Said Josiah PARKER & Omy his Wife doth hereby Acknowledge themselve [sic] there of fully Satisfied hath Bargained and Sold Aliend & Enforsed and confirmed and by these Presents doth bargain and Sell alien Enforsed and for ever Confirm Unto the Said James PARKER his Heirs or assigns for ever A Certain Tract or? Josiah & James PARKER and So runing along the new line down to the Swamp & So down the Swamp be the same more or Less thirty seven & a half acres more or Less with all Houses Orchards Gardens woods waters ways mines minerals & all Other Profits Commodities there to belonging or in anywise Appertaining With the Reversion and Reversions Remainder & Remanders [sic] unto Issues and profits there of and of Every part and parsel thereof to have and to hold the sd. Bargained Premises unto the Sd. James PARKER his Heirs & assigns for ever fully and Clearly acquited and discharged of and from all former Gifts Dowers jointers & of & from all Manner of incomberances whatsoever and the Sd. Josiah PARKER Oma his Wife doth Quit claim and to the Sd. Land and Premises Unto the Sd. James PARKER his Heirs & assigns for ever & the Sd. This Indenture made the sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety between Thomas Hunter of Gates County State of North Carolina of the one part and John Hoffler of the said County and State aforesaid of the Other part Witnesseth the said Thomas Hunter for and in Consideration of the sum of Twelve Pounds to him in hand paid The receipt whereof the said Thomas Hunter do hereby Acknowledge have Given, Granted, Bargained, and sold by these presents do fully Clearly and Absolutely Give, Grant, bargain, and Sell and for Ever make over unto John Hoffler his heirs and assigns a certain parcel of Land situate Lying and in Gates County and State aforesaid and Lying on the South side of the water Swamp and beginning at oak Kedar Hills Corner and John Hoffler’s side On ? the nee north seventy west twenty six poles to a pine thence north sixty poles West Sixty four poles to a pine John B. This Indenture made this 14th Day of August 1786 between Josiah PARKER of Gates County of the State of North Carolina of the One part and Stephen SHEPHERD of the Other part witnes_seth that ye Sd. Josiah PARKER for & in Consideration of ten pound_ Current Money of the State aforsaid to him in hand paid before the Sealling and Delivering of this Conveyance the Recept where of he hereby acknowledgeses [sic] himself therewith fully Satisfied Contented & paid hath Bargained and Sold and by these Presents doth bargain Sell alienate enfeoff grant and Confirm Unto the Sd. Stephen SHEPHERD all that Mesage [sic] tenement tract and parsill of Land Containing twenty five acres be the Same More or Less Situate in Gates County aforsd being part of pattent granted Thomas PILAND for four Hundred acres baring Date 20th Day of November 1738 and is bounded as follow_ Viz begining at a white Oake where Thomas PILAND Corners at MILLES patent line thence along MILLES Line to a Red Oake and Corners thence running Near a west Course Joining the Sd. Josiah PARKER by a line of Marked trees to a post Oke and Red oke Corner Trees from thence Running Near a South Course to Thomas PILANDs Line to a white Oke thence along the Sd. PILANDs line to the first Station and the reversion & Reversions Remainders & Remainders of all & Singular The primises and Every part & parsill Thereof and the Rents iss__ and profitts to the same belonging or anywise appertaining To have and to hold the message land Tenants and heriditemen/ts/ with all and Every the Primises whatsoever hereby sold bargained or Mentioned to be bargained and Sold with all and Every O?ther priviledges and appurtinances unto the Sd. Message and primesses with all and Singular their appertenances and all and Every the Rights issues profits and Commodities thereof and of Every Part and parcill there of have and take Without any Manner of Let Suits Trobles vexation eviction Disturbance or other Molestation whatsoever of I him [sic] the Said Josiah PARKER his heirs and assigns or Any Other person or persons whatsoever having any Lawfull Claim intrust or demand in or out of the Primises or any part or parcill of the Same and the Said Josiah PARKER and his heirs the Sd.
