KENT BURNETTE
MARION - Kent Burnette, 83, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002 at McDowell
Nursing Center. He was the son of the late Daniel and Rittie Hollifield
Burnette. A member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, he was retired from
Drexel Heritage Furnishings, and a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Effler Burnette of the home; a son,
John Effler of Marion; a sister, Mattie Hollifield of Marion; two
grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of
Westmoreland Funeral Home. Rev. Eric Grindstaff officiated. Burial
was in Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends
from 1 p.m. until the service hour Thursday.
