Obituary of Dottie Woody Fields ~ 2008

Dottie Woody Fields, age 68 of Marion passed away on Tuesday October 7, 2008. A native of Yancey County, Dottie was born on February 4, 1940 to the late Edward and Maude Honeycutt Woody. She was a homemaker and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Her husband of 43 years, Larry Fields, preceded her in death on February 8 of this year.
Left to remember Dottie are a son Randy Fields and his wife Trish of Marion; three brothers, Paul Woody and Dennis Woody, both of Burnsville, and Donald Woody of Greensboro; four sisters, Billie Dale, Juanita Letterman, Wilma Angel and Violet Hardin, all of Burnsville; and two granddaughters, Kayla Greene and Jordan Fields.
A funeral service was held on Friday October 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Terry Roach officiating. The family received friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at Dottie’s home. Burial was in McDowell Memorial Park.
