Obituary of Charles Ashley Hall ~ 2008

Charles Ashley Hall, 53, of Old Fort went to be with the Lord Sunday November 30, 2008 at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC. Born in Spruce Pine, NC to the late Willie Lee “Bill” Hall and Pearl Buchanan Hall, he was a member of Brookside Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Song Leader. He worked as a Service Technician for ADT Security. Mr. Hall loved camping, talking, eating and especially riding motorcycles. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Hicks and Naomi Hoilman.
Surviving are his wife Vickie A. Shaffstall Hall of the home; son Wesley Hall & wife Kim of Asheville, NC and step-son Chris Mills and wife Amy of Cary, NC; daughter Crystal McMinn and husband Don of Old Fort, NC, two step-daughters Kimberly Mills of Orlando, FL and Wendy Mills of Hendersonville, NC; three brothers, Bud Hall and wife Barbara of Black Mountain, NC, Bill “Tunnie” Hall, Jr. and wife Darlene of Old Fort, NC and Ray Hall and wife Darlene of Lenoir, NC; one brother-in-law, Buster Hicks of Avery Co., NC; four sisters, Carolyn Stewart and husband Bill of Lenoir, NC, Jean Whitson and husband Edward of Burnsville, NC, Kathy “Jo” McKinney and husband Larry of Ridgecrest, NC and Pat Guy and husband Tony of Lenoir, NC; ten grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday December 3, 2008 at Kirksey Chapel in Old Fort. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday December 4, 2008 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Duyck and Rev. Gene Briggs officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Community Cemetery. Kirksey Chapel in Old Fort is assisting the family. Words of Comfort may be shared with the Hall family at www.mem.com.
