Obituary of Mary “Maygal” Conley Henry ~ 2008

Mrs. Mary “Maygal” Conley Henry, age 69 of Marion entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Born in Burke County on January 18, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Phillip Conley and Lillie Bell Tate Conley. Mrs. Henry was a member of Community Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved to sing gospel and country music. Following 27 years of service, she retired from Baxter Healthcare. Westmoreland Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Herbert A. “Sonny” Henry; five children, Keith Conley and his wife Sondra of Morganton, Donna Henry of Statesville, Sonya Henry of Charlotte, Tracy Crisp and her husband Ricky of Marion and Kimberly Mackey and her husband Derrick of Cherryville; eight grandchildren, Chasity, Deraine, Brandon, Talia, Cambria, Arielle, Ariana and Alexia; three great grandchildren, Jasmine, Quante and Diamond; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Sunday October 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at New Horizon Baptist Church with Rev. Luther Gamble, Pastor George Logan and Rev. Phil Murdock officiating.
The family received friends on Saturday October 25, 2008 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Westmoreland Funeral Home where the body remained until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. At other times, the family was at the home of Tracy and Ricky Crisp 77 Whitetail Trail Pleasant View Estates. Burial was in McDowell Memorial Park.
