Obituary of Lewis T. “Pete” Henson ~ 2009

On January 27, 2009 at his home and with his family at his side, Mr. Lewis T. “Pete” Henson, age 85 of Marion went to his heavenly home to be with the Lord. A native of Buncombe County, he was born on August 11, 1923 to the late Tom and Callie Morgan Henson of Enka-Candler. Pete was a longtime member of Coxes Creek Free Will Baptist Church and was retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture Co. He leaves behind many loving family members and friends.
Surviving are his wife of over 32 years, Tishie McGhee Henson; two daughters, Sheila Moore and her husband Wayne of Asheville and Wanda Lewis and her husband Dan of Arden; two step-sons, Grady Hall and his wife Martha of Canton and Gene Hall and his wife Rosalyn of Tennessee; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday January 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Revs. Odis Hudgins and Charles Sprinkles officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Westmoreland Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Upper English Cemetery in Madison County.
