Obituary of Faye O’Neal Hollifield Hoppes ~ 2009

Faye O’Neal Hollifield Hoppes, 89, of Marion went home to be with her Savior Thursday January 15, 2009 at the McDowell Hospital. She was born in McDowell County August 29, 1919 to the late J. Roscoe Hollifield and Nettie Pearl Bartlett Hollifield. Mrs. Hoppes retired from Marion Fabrics after 36 years of service. After retiring, she worked with numerous nursing home facilities and was determined to help others. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Willard Cecil Hoppes; four brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are one sister Texie Lewis; one daughter Pam Westmoreland; three grandchildren, Jeff Flynn and wife Tonya, Neal Westmoreland and wife April, and Lynn Ingram; three great-grandsons, Brian, Nathan and Patrick; two great-great-grandchildren, Nicholas and McKayla; a number of nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
Services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday January 19, 2009 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion. Burial followed at Barnes Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion will be assisting the family.
