Obituary of Woodrow W. Hunter ~ 2008

Mr. Woodrow W. Hunter, age 95, passed away Sunday August 10, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Hunter was born in McDowell County on October 25, 1912 and was a son of the late Fred Killian Hunter and Ether Holland Hunter. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and he retired from Drexel Heritage Furnishings. He will be remembered by his family as a loving father, grandfather, great and great-great grandfather. Preceding Mr. Hunter in death was his wife Eliza “Dot” Burgin Hunter and a son James W. Hunter.
Surviving Mr. Hunter are: Robert V. Hunter, son and wife Dean of Spartanburg; Charles D. Hunter, son and wife Sharon of Rock Hill, SC; daughter-in-law Annette Hunter of Tampa, FL; Fannie Cranford, sister of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday August 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Revs. Michael Swofford and Kevin Reinke officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
